There's a lot more to a blog than many people realize. Just sign on and start writing, right? Wrong. This book begins with the simple facts and answers the questions so you can get set up the right way and start blogging. A few corny "Dummies" book jokes as always, but a good way to learn the basics and well worth the money.

Aside from the liberal tripe found throughout the book - emotional exuberance over the current president (initials BHO), pushing liberal blog sites, etc. - it is somewhat helpful as a resource for very general blogging information.
Political "bombs" sprinkled throughout a non-political book and emoting lifestyle choices numb the experience. Should give it 2 stars for the authors using "Dummies" as a vehicle for propaganda -- regardless of slant.
Other than the aforementioned, it reads fine and the layout is fine. Note: Their blogging "Tips" (icons with comments) often suggest buying a completely different "Dummies" book.

A top pick is Susannah Gardner and Shane Birley's BLOGGING FOR DUMMIES, a fine survey covering the basics of blog etiquette, tools, socializing, and even blogging for money. From identifying visitors to managing blog tasks and overcoming writer's block, this is a top pick.

Being I am from an older generation, the whole idea of blogging was hard for me to grasp. This book put information at a basic level that allowed me to understand it. This book helped me improve my blog which in turn will help my small business.

The good thing about this book is that it's nice to keep by your computer and refer to it while blogging, just in case you forget something.
